The purpose of this site is to describe what it was like to grow up and go to school in the
little town of Knightstown, Indiana in the late 1940s and throughout the 1950s. I'm trying to convey to later
generations what a wonderful time and place it really was.
The description will be based primarily on the memories of those who lived it supplemented with
data from old issues of the "Banner" newspaper and pictures on loan from various sources including
"Historic Knightstown", High School annuals and kind folks like you.

Often I think of the beautiful town
Often in thought go up and down
The pleasant streets of that dear old town,
And my youth comes back to me.
